About This Watch
The Chopard Alpine Eagle is a modern reinterpretation of the St. Moritz, Chopard's first sports watch from 1980, reimagined by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele's son. The 41mm case is crafted from Lucent Steel A223, a proprietary alloy developed by Chopard that is 50% harder than conventional stainless steel, more scratch-resistant, and possesses a brighter, more luminous surface. The "Aletsch Blue" dial is inspired by the colors of the Aletsch Glacier in the Swiss Alps, featuring a textured surface created by pressing an actual eagle iris pattern into the dial — visible under magnification as a distinctive sunburst texture. The in-house caliber 01.01-C, developed and manufactured at Chopard's Fleurier workshop, delivers a 60-hour power reserve with COSC chronometer certification. The integrated bracelet features alternating brushed and polished links for visual depth. Chopard's commitment to ethical gold sourcing extends to the Alpine Eagle collection, with the brand partnering with the Eagle Wings Foundation for alpine conservation. The Alpine Eagle positions Chopard firmly in the luxury steel sports watch category with a compelling combination of proprietary materials, in-house mechanics, and environmental consciousness.
