The A. Lange & Söhne Odysseus, launched in 2019, was a watershed moment for the brand: its first-ever sports watch and its first stainless steel model. Named after the Greek hero known for his versatility and resilience, the Odysseus features Lange's trademark outsize date and day display within a water-resistant case rated to 120 meters, a dramatic departure from the 30-meter dress watches that defined the collection. The in-house caliber L155.1 was developed specifically for the Odysseus, featuring a new automatic winding system with a Lange-first 28,800 vph frequency. The case design introduces a new aesthetic language for the brand with integrated lugs, a screw-down crown between crown guards, and a mixed brushed-polished finishing that signals sporty intent while maintaining the refinement expected from Glashütte.
